PREAMBLE
Nigeria, as a nation, is a paradox.
This paradoxical nature endures because of our lack of knowledge of the
spiritual perspective of nationhood. Africa must understand that the closely guarded
national secrets of nations, in the 21st century and beyond, would
be spiritual secrets and not dangerous weapons. For instance, did you know that
if you save somebody’s telephone number in your telephone, you are saving the
person’s spirit, soul and body into yourself?
The present day spiritual
imperialism which suppresses African’s will, ability and mind from developing
herself is the basic problem of Africa. Thus, for proper appreciation of the
concept of Nationhood, Africans must have complete understanding of the
spiritual world, and use such knowledge to free Africa from the shackles of the
world spiritual imperialism imposed on
the African continent through imperialist organizations such as the
Commonwealth of Nations, International Organization of Francophone
Countries (Organization Internationale
de la Francophonie), Organization of Ibero-American States (Comunidad
Iberoamericana de Naciones) and
Community of Portuguese Language Countries (Comunidade dos paise de lingua
Portuguesa). All these organizations have provisions biding the spirits of
Africans.
NATIONHOOD
In explaining Nationhood from the
spiritual perspective, it must be understood that God Almighty created all
nationalities, and the Holy Spirit is the God behind Nigerian’s destiny. Secondly, all human spirits are one and the
same from the creator; and that the ground from which man’s physical body was
created is contiguous, without natural demarcations or boundaries.
Fourthly, because of man’s physical
attachment to the ground, any definition of nationhood without the spiritual
impact of man will never be apt. This is
the mystery behind the truth that God’s curse on man became a vicarious curse
on the entire earth. Again, from Antiquity, and apart from modern processes of
citizenship, no man determines the family, environment, society or country or
continent he lives in. He is often born
into it. God created a garden of Eden for Adam and gave him a wife. When Adam
left the garden because of sin, God sent Abraham to replace Adam in the same
Garden. Again, it should be noted that
because of the sin of Adam, Satan became the god of this world, influencing the
formation, development and growth of societies.
Lastly, apart from language, culture is largely the product of our environment
and not the spirit of any people.
THE
SPIRITUAL BOND OF MARRIAGE
The spiritual bound behind the
marriage of a man and a woman is the appropriate analogy to unravel the concept
of nationhood to the world. First, it
started between God and man, and then between man and a woman. For man and the whole earth God is saying
like he said to Israel “for they maker is thine husband; the lord of host is
his name; … the God of the whole earth shall he be called”. The Bible describes
the relationship between Jesus Christ and the Church as marriage. Thus,
marriage is a divine institution. Marriage has three distinctive means. For
instance, marriage means: (1) The legal relationship between a husband and a
wife. This is the bond, (2) The state of being married. This is the condition,
character or personality of the marriage; and (3) The ceremony in which the man
and woman are married. This is the
wedding. There is no barrier in any marriage that satisfies the above, even if
the woman is a white American and the man is a Nigerian
It can be gleaned from the above that
the bond is spiritual, the condition or character is soulish and the ceremony
is physical. Thus, no matter how diverse the cultural, historical and
geographical antecedents of any groups of people are, if such groups of people
voluntarily agree among themselves to live together as a country, and give to
themselves a constitution to govern their affairs, such people are a nation.
The agreement aforesaid among the groups constitute marriage in the spirit. The
groups have entered into a legal relation; formed a condition or character for
themselves and perfected the former with a ceremony. Because of the spiritual
bond, any attempt by any particular group to secede will attract resentment
from the others. As it is always
difficult to dissolve a marriage so it is to break up a nation.
THE
TRINITY OF NATIONHOOD
No man can understand nationhood
without a clear spiritual understanding of the personalities of God, Man, Satan
and a Country. These are all triune entities.
By the knowledge of how man was created, we understand that these all
have spirit, soul and body. The spirit of man is his heart. The soul of man comprises his mind, will and
emotions;exemplified by the Brain.Man’s physical body is his five physical
senses: senses of hearing, touch, feeling, seeing and smelling.
God’s spirit is the Holy Spirit. He
rules “the mystery of Godliness” in the world. God’s soul, which is His mind,
will and emotions, is the word of God – the Bible. God’s spiritual body is the
anointing the Holy Spirit generates in making contact in the spiritual world.
It is the finger of God.
Satan’s spirit is called the “Great
whore,” Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the
Earth”. She rules the “mystery of iniquity” in the world. Because she sits upon many waters, which are
peoples, multitudes, and nations and tongues, in common parlance, she is also
called the “queen of the coast”. Satan’s soul is witchcraft. This is the
knowledge of evil. It is also called,
“Names full of blasphemy”. Satan’s Spiritually body is called Occult . It is
the practice of evil. It is also known as the “Wine of fornication”.
Because of man’s physical connection
to the ground, a country also has its spirit, soul and body. The spirit of a
country is call the “Nation”. It means the collective human spirits of all the
citizens of that country. This is what
is sometimes called the National spirit of a country. The soul of a country is
the collective mind, will and emotions of all the citizens of a country
produced in concrete form, as a binding constitution, rules and regulations
governing the life of the country. This is the condition, character or
personality of that country. It is called the State. Because the physical body of man is the
product of the ground, the land as geographically demarcated as territory of a
country is the physical body of that country.
It is called the father-land. It can be observed that word ‘Nation’ is
so distinct from the word “country”. Whereas nation is the spirit of a society,
country is seen as the trinity of a society – its spirit, soul and body. The
inability to detect the spiritual trinity of society is the reason for the
confusion amongst social scholars about the definition of Nation, Nation-State,
Society, State and Country.
OUR
NATIONAL IMPERFECTION
From the above explanations, Nigeria,
at independence on the 1st of October, 1960, became a nation. Because on that day all the ethnic groups of
Nigeria voluntarily agreed to form a union, to live together as one country and
gave unto themselves a binding constitution. This union was a spiritual
marriage; the partners being the various ethnic groups; the marriage
certificate being the national constitution; and the officiating priest being
the British in that physical ceremony.
However, the nation is imperfect. Our
national imperfection lies in our colonial legacy and the present day British
spiritual imperialism. Britain was God’s own country until she was deceived
during the early modern period through King Henry VIII of England. The refusal
of the Pope to annul his previous marriage to enable him remarry and have a
male heir to the English Throne, infuriated the king, who in 1534, passed the
Act of Supremacy, making the English King “the protector and only Supreme Head
of the Church and clergy of England”. The Act required all subjects to take the
Oath of Supremacy acknowledging the religious
headship of King Henry VIII and rejecting the headship of the Pope in Rome.
He divorced Catharine of Aragon, Got married to Anne Boleyn whose daughter
Elizabeth, regarded by British Catholics and Protestants as illegitimate became
the Queen of England from 1558-1603.Queen Elizabeth I described the death of
her half sister the former Queen Mary as “This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes”. But when
she set a date for her coronation she turned not to the Church but to John Dee,
a renowned astrologer, who revealed that the stars and planets favour 15
January. The Holy Spirit was grieved. Thus, Nigeria’s national imperfection is
that, on the 1st of October, 1960, Nigeria, through our beloved
former prime minister, Alhaji Abubakar Tafawa Balewa took the British Oath of
Supremacy acknowledging the religious
headship of the British crown when he said, “I have indeed every confidence that based on the happy experience of
successful partnership, our future relations with the United Kingdom will be
more cordial than ever, bound together, as we shall be in the commonwealth, by
a common allegiance to her majesty Queen Elizabeth, whom today we proudly
acclaim as Queen of Nigeria and Head of the Commonwealth”. This means Queen
Elizabeth II is the spiritual and religious head of all citizens of Nigeria.
Covenanting an allegiance of our national spirit to the Queen of England, a
foreigner, who is not part of the national spirit of this country is our
national imperfection. This is the fundamental flaw and disconnect in our
nationhood, a spiritual open door, allowing satan to attack everything in this
Country. The Statute of West Minister 1931 which established the Commonwealth
of Nations also stipulates that all nations of the Commonwealth are independent
but they owe a common allegiance to the British crown.
EFFECT
OF THE COMMONWEALTH
Nigeria’s troubles started from 1951,
when the Northern Peoples Congress (NPC) of the Northern Region, the National
Council of Nigeria Citizens (NCNC) of the Eastern Region, and the Action of
Group of the Western Region were established. The British noticed that the
manifestoes of the NPC and the NCNC pledged an independent Nigeria in the
Commonwealth, while the AG group wanted immediate termination of British rule
without a pledge to the Commonwealth of Nations. This refusal by Chief Obafemi Awolowo
to recognize the Commonwealth rattled the British, and led to all the problems
the Chief faced in the politics of independent Nigeria before his death. This is why he was manipulated away from
power in the 1959 federal elections; why he was imprisoned in 1963; why he lost
out in the 1979 federal elections.
Because of Awo’s anti Commonwealth stance, the Holy Spirit is more
comfortable and settles with the Yoruba people, blessing them. Chief Awolowo
described Nigeria as “a mere geographical expression” because of the
Commonwealth. That Nigeria is a country without a national spirit of her own.
The God fearing, humble, honest Hausa
Fulanis! because of their understandable sense of precariousness under the very
complex power relations in the newly independent Nigeria they innocently fell
into the British deception by joining the Commonwealth in exchange for
perpetual leadership of the new nation, guaranteed by the British with a
promise to inflate the population of Northern Nigeria. This is basis of the
partnership between Britain and Northern Nigeria. The accord imposed British
spiritual colonialism on Nigeria. This accord is the reason the North is
decaying today. Because, inspite of the accord, Northern Nigeria does not
worship the queen of the coast.
Everything the Northern religion does: banning prostitution, banning
drinking of alcohol, closing brothels, veiling of women, banning indecent dressing by women,
etc, are all against the spirit of Satan – the great whore (queen of the
coast). Christians in the North even go further by casting demons out of people
possessed by the spirit of satan. Thus,
satan is stifling everything in the North to assert control of the country.
Many northern leaders are dying mysteriously because of this spiritual friction
and conflict. The so called “religious crises” in the North are spiritual
manipulations by the queen of the coast against Muslims and Christians to
control the North of the country. All
the oil wells deposited in the North of this country are locked up by this
spirit of satan. The prosperity of
Northern Nigeria can only be achieved if Nigeria leaves the Commonwealth of
Nations.
The Igbo’s! always on the wrong said
of the history of this country; for no fault committed by them! They are always
envied, suspected, hated and killed because of Nigeria’s membership of the
Commonwealth of Nations. Because the Igbo’s have a natural spiritual glow, by Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe
partnering with the NPC in the conspiracy to put Nigeria in the Commonwealth
with the British in the 1959 national elections, Igbo’s natural spiritual glow
came into direct conflict with the spirit of satan, the queen of the coast.
Again, because of the accord for the perpetual leadership of the country
between the North and the British, Igbo dominion of the country at the time was
seen by the queen of the coast as the greatest obstacle to the spiritual
colonization of the country by the British. Yet, the Igbo’s supported the
Commonwealth without worshiping the queen of the coast. This is why they have always been perpetually
marginalized. The Igbos lost their luster. This is the reason for the coup and
the counter coup leading to the Nigeria Civil war. Is it not instructive that a
dedicated Christian (Roman Catholic) like Major Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu and a
dedicated Muslim like then Major Rammat Murtala Mohammed carried out the
January 15th, 1966 coup and the July 29 1966 counter coup
respectively? The January 15th coupists
sought to withdraw Nigeria’s attachment to Westminster in International
relations, while Araba (separation) was abandoned by the July 29, 1966 coupists
for a return to the status quo ante January 15. The minorities are also
affected.
PERFECTING
OUR NATIONHOOD
The perfect country is the one whose
spirit, soul and body has no single demonic oppressions. Man’s freedom is the
right analogy to explain the freedom of society. A man starts his way to
spiritual freedom, in the Christian sense, by publicly proclaiming Jesus Christ
as his Lord and Saviour from sin, and invites the person of Jesus Christ into
his life and promise to sin no more. If
that man believes with his heart by faith the words in his mouth, he is saved
from sin. Unseen by his naked eyes, he is immediately baptized by the Holy
Spirit into the body of Jesus Christ, the church. At this stage, the Holy
Spirit comes in to activate his human spirit and give him divine life. This
stage is called, ‘faith in the person of Christ’ in the mystery of
Godliness. He does not know the person
of Jesus Christ yet, but believes in him by faith totally.
If he exercises faith regularly,
especially by reading the Bible long enough, the Holy Spirit will use the words
he reads to replace his human flesh and bring his human mind and the Spiritual
Mind of Christ closer everyday. If he
continues in the word of God, a fusion of his human mind and the Mind of Christ
will take place in the spirit. He thus wakes up to his spiritual environment.
Such a man has fully renewed his mind.
He has his eyes of understanding (mind) enlightened after the spirit
that is of God and no longer the spirit of the world. Such a man now “knows the
person of Jesus Christ”, the second stage in the Mystery of Godliness. He sees the person of Christ moment by moment
with the Mind of Christ. He can described Jesus Christ to another person. This is the realm of divine knowledge in his
spiritual life. When a man reaches this stage, the Holy spirit makes him to
know, by the Mind of Christ, all the spiritual weights, obstacles satan has
placed in his life, tracing from the very first day he was born into this
world. He removes those deceptions by ‘doing’ something. It may be paying back
forgotten debts to others, renunciation of evil covenants, restitutions, etc.
He does this by “walking in the spirit, by the Mind of Christ. He now knows
what to do at anytime. He knows above Satan and reigns in this world.
A man who has perfected doing things
in his life by the Mind of Christ is now introduced by the Holy Spirit to “know
the love of Christ”, which passeth knowledge”. This is the final stage in the
mystery of Godliness. At this stage, such a person is filled with all the
fullness of God Almighty. The Agape love
of Christ becomes his nature. He is set to be used to bless others in this
world. Because God is love, such a
person has become god. We should know
that in the mystery of Godliness salvation starts with the spirit; knowledge is
of the soul where the mind is and love is the function of the physical body. The above person has total spiritual purity
and is perfect.
Consequently, the above man must
necessarily be a very faithfully person. He can always receive anything from
God by faith. Faith is defined as, “Now
faith is the substance of things Hoped for, the Evidence of things not seen”
Faith simply means belief or trust in God. Because God expects the response of
the totality of man-spirit, soul and body- in trusting him in our exercise of
faith over anything, we must understand the Substance, Hope and Evidence of
Faith in the above definition. First,
the Substance of faith is the spirit of faith. The Hope of faith is the soul of
faith. It is the expectation, the mind of faith. The Evidence of faith is the
body or work of faith. In other words, a man born again in his spirit, saved in
his soul and have the redeemed physical body invariably can always exercise the
Substance, Hope and Evidence of faith. These three are the steps of faith of
our faithful Father Abraham. They are also the steps of the Good man that are
ordered by the Lord. Faith always works
for such a man because he is always in the will of God and knows the will of
God in every situation of life. This should be the character of Africa’s
political leadership in the 21st century and beyond. A nation can
also be thus faithful to God.
WILLS
OF SOLUTIONS
To
every problem that faces man and his society there is a solution in the
spirit realm. The solution is to discover the Will of God Almighty in that
problem. In solving problems, there are only three Wills of God. These are “The
Good Will of God”, “the Acceptable Will of God” and “the Perfect Will of God”.
The correct application of these Wills of Solution resolves of all problems of
man and his society.
To demonstrate the application of the
above Wills of Solution, let us use the example of a family of a husband, wife
and five children. If you visit such a family and notice the children behaving
rascally, destroying properties in the house and fighting themselves, I can
assure you that such violent behaviour may be due to demonic presence in the
house. Now, in the application of the three wills, if the parents attempt to
discipline the children physically by scolding, flogging and other forms of
discipline, it would not solve the problem. But such physical discipline is the
Good Will of God. If you spare the rod you spoil the child. The parents may
then attempt to apply the Acceptable Will of God, which is prayer in the house.
This also may not work perfectly because since the demons cannot resist the
power of the prayers they will run out of the house and stand at a close
distance monitoring the house. For instance, if the husband and wife engage in
any quarrel in the house, the demons will re-enter the house immediately and
the problem continues. This is because, in spite of the physical discipline and
prayers, the original spiritual door opened for the demons to enter the house
has not been closed. The application of
the perfect Will of God, which is walking in the spirit with the Mind of Christ,
will detect the problem by knowledge that the source of the problem is a
second-hand air conditioner bought by the husband and installed in the house
whose original owner is a man deep in the occult. That since the arrival of the
air conditioner the spiritual atmosphere of the house becomes polluted, making
the children to be Jostling against one another, like Atoms in a laboratory
experiment. The permanent solution is to do something by taking away the air
conditioner from the house. The spiritual door is closed; the children will
become like lambs.
What about pains that suddenly come
upon your body? Apply the same Wills and it will go. Here, taking drugs is the
Good Will of God, prayer is the Acceptable Will and knowing and paying back the
unpaid tithes to God may be the Perfect Will and the Pain Will end
automatically.
In the application of the above wills
in solving national problems, all physical measures of law enforcement,
discipline, information and other forms of social controls are just the Good
Will of God. Prayer and fasting and other acts of national faith in seeking
God’s help on behalf of the country are just the Acceptable Will of God.
The Perfect Will of God is to use the
Mind of Christ to locate the impediment in the spirit, soul and body of the
country and remove it.
THE
CLOSING DOOR
Our National allegiance to the British
Crown in the Commonwealth is a grave national security issue. In Britain, for
refusing to take this oath, Sir Thomas Moore, a statesman, was executed for
treason and many others persecuted in various ways. This is the source of the
general inertia, bad leadership, corruption, disunity, violence, ungodliness in
Nigeria. Because of General Muritala Mohammed/General Obasanjo’s proactive
foreign policies and the factor of the Holy Spirit, Satan has been priming this
Country for a bloody revolution; as he did to Ghana because of President
Nkrumah’s Pan-Africanism. He wants to use the 2011 general elections. Satan
regards the creation of Bayelsa State, which reveals President Goodluck
Jonathan, as a big set back; because the prosperity of Nigeria would begin with
Bayelsa State. He knows that bloody revolutions, wherever they occur, are
spiritually defined as human sacrifices to appease Satan as an atonement for
temporary progress in such countries. The blood shed are human sacrifices.
Satan also know that with such human
sacrifices, the Holy Spirit will leave Nigeria for him to take total control.
All nations that have executed bloody revolutions in the world have lost their
original destinies. They have become
ordinary nations without the Holy Spirit.
Their progress will not last, because after while Satan will come for
more blood and the problems will resurface in those countries. Today is our
Golden Jubilee, the year of freedom. But if the circumstances that hinder us
remain unchanged, it may not matter even if we are a hundred years old as a
nation.
